Komodo Island is Encouraged to Enter the New Seven Wonders

Makasar: Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Republic of Indonesia conduct support in Makassar in order to make Komodo Island become one of seventh wonders of the world.

On that chance, the director of media promotion of Culture and Tourism Ministry, Esthy Reko Astuti said, '' Komodo Island only exists in Indonesia, exactly in Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTT) province; thus, support and interference of society on voting in the website New7Wonders.com will be helpful to preserve the wonders that belong to our country.''

She said also that the campaign committee of New7wonders foundation had announced that Komodo Island became one of twenty-eight finalists that're eligible to step to the final.

Komodo Island won over 440 other nominations from 220 countries before finally elected as one of the twenty-eight finalists. All the twenty-eight finalists still have to compete again without noticing the position of chart and ''vote'' on the previous pace until 11th of November 2011.

''Winning Komodo Island can only be done together and this is not only the responsibility of the government itself. The society also must involve in it'', said she.
